Master's Message

May 2012

The year draws to it’s close with several Third Degrees under our  belt and two still to do. With a bit of luck we can do these two and complete the year with presentation of Master Mason’s certificates followed by the Third degree tracing board. I can only thank those Brethren for the considerable help given to me so far.V.W. Bro  Bob Gainsford will be responsible for a team in June when I am participating in the Katikati Installation and also taking advantage of the occasion to visit W.Bro John Vinson who has recently had a further hip replacement.

Next month sees the start of the process of electing the Master and his team for the ensuing year. The Standing Committee will recommend and the Regular meeting will nominate for elections in June.

May is the penultimate meeting of Lodge Putaruru and I will be visiting with as many Brethren as possible.  Having had many delightful evenings there it is the least we can do to give our support as they draw to a close.

Our ladies night occurs this month and our dinner is booked at the usual time of 7pm at the Rotorua Citizens Club. To gain access I suggest we park at the back and then go in at the rear entrance when the bartender will let non members in.

We had a very special night at Lodge Kaimanawa for the “Empty Chair” ceremony at their April meeting and our Secretary would like to recommend that we seriously consider carrying out the ceremony next year.  This is of course a matter for consideration by next year’s master and his team.

It looks like one of our regular visitors will be affiliating shortly to the lodge and that will be brought up at the Standing Committee.  What a pleasure.

We meet at the Rotorua Freemasons Centre, 1131 Fenton St (Lake End) on the 2nd Tuesday of each Month at 7:30 pm. Ladies meet for dinner while Brethren attend Lodge.
