Master's Message

It was with deep regret that the decision was made for Lodge Matamata to hand in its Charter to the Grand Lodge of New Zealand. The aging of the current members and the lack of new membership in the area necessitated this decision.

The final meeting was held at the Freemasons Hall, Matamata (see map on right) at 7:30 pm on Thursday 24th February 2011. It was an official Grand Lodge Visit. Dress was formal.

All brethren were invited to attend and support the outgoing team who have striven hard to keep the Lodge running. A good turnout was made for a moving and emotional ceremony.
